I have been working at NCR as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    Great working environment
    Participate in live industry projects
    Interaction with multidisciplinary teams
Gain a good range of skills and experience as a new graduate
    Flexible working hours

    Cons

Access to a range of physical prototyping facilities however I feel there could be more.
Spend most of your time indoors in studio - could include more field trips/external research and activities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Time off policies are good, flexible working hours is a real help. Perhaps more mentoring could be useful at this early stage of a career. Quite a self driven role.

    Technical Author/Communicator Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Dundee, Scotland
    Anonymous Employee in Dundee, Scotland
    Application Details

I applied online. The process took a dayinterviewed at NCR in July 2014.

    Interview Details

Telephone interview seemed ok, but there was not a lot of clues as to how well you had performed. It was "all down to the hiring manager", which sounded a bit less optimistic. It was unclear exactly what skillset(s) and vocational competences were required. Candidate was already a published author and had significant project experience in technical documentation.
Job description contained a lot of things that first time or inexperienced applicants would not reasonably be expected to know about. Overall, very disappointing and not recommended.

    Interview Questions
    • Questions were very general - "have you led teams before" A lot of emphasis was placed on this and it seemed that the role did not have guidance and support   View Answer
