I have been working at Parker Hannifin full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, pension scheme, bonus scheme etc. Facilities are ok. Parker performs well on the NYSE so job stability is quite solid.

    Cons

Not really an innovative company. Any "breakthrough" technology is usually acquired. Most Parker locations are acquisitions themselves and as such, inherit the old manufacturing culture of the company it was previously.
Salaries are a little under market norm but this is usually made up by the quarterly bonus scheme.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote the younger top performers and allow a more modern culture to filter through the company. Make quicker decisions rather than procrastinating on relatively simple topics. Trust your employees more with flexible working conditions and more delegation of authority

I was required to submit an application form which asked general questions like 'what most appeals to you about our graduate scheme' etc. Shortly after submitting my application I was asked to conduct a telephone interview. The interviewer was great and made me feel really relaxed and at ease which helped me answer the questions to the best of my ability. A little while after my telephone interview I was invited to attend an assessment centre. Having never been to an assessment centre before, I was initially a bit nervous but the people were great and they helped make the day a surprisingly enjoyable experience! The assessment centre was made up of a 1-1 interview, a short presentation and a group exercise. I wasn't really asked any difficult technical questions during the day.
