We're making things better.

Since 2003, we've created the biggest 3G network in the UK from scratch. We’ve developed internet services that our customers love and there's plenty more to come. We're committed to making mobile better for everyone in the UK. Whether it's building the best network, challenging the status quo, improving access for everyone, delivering firsts or simply offering best value.  And this commitment to making things better is reflected in how much we put into developing our people.

Working at our offices in Maidenhead or Glasgow, or in one of our Retail stores, you'll feel a real buzz in the air. No two days are the same and there's always so much going on. Most importantly, you'll have the scope to make a big impact on our business.

We aim to create an environment that means our people love working for Three. We put equal importance on what you achieve and how you achieve it. Our internal culture has been through significant transformation over the past five years. Our cultural principles focus around three behaviours: taking responsibility for making things better, keeping our word when we commit to doing something and being open and honest with each other and our customers.

The videos, links and information here should give you a better idea about Three and what we offer to potential employees.

I have been working at Three full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

There is so much scope for advancement at Three. The Management treat you as equal rather than look down on you. Lots of fun things happen around the office and at outside events. Ideas are encouraged and there is freedom of movement to make these ideas happen. It's all up to you to drive them forward.

    Cons

I want to move within the company, but would like to see departments giving an employer at Three the opportunity to be considered for a position even though it is something that they have not done before. I just feel like sometimes they concentrate on what specific skills you have, rather than the whole behaviour aspect. If you are dynamic and passionate, surely you can do any job. Skills transfer should strongly be considered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be great to have a skills transfer type workshop for people wanting to get into different areas at Three.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 4+ monthsinterviewed at Three in October 2014.

    Interview Details

Applied for a job in July 2014. In October 2014 I got a phonecall stating that I "recently" applied for a job with Three and would I be interested in continuing my application. The telephone interview was informal, he asked the usual competancy based questions and we had a laugh and joke. Then he invited me to a face-to-face interview in a location that I hadn't even applied for! I was also asked if I gae permission for Three to do a credit check on me.

I turn up for interview and in the room is 4 managers and 1 current member of staff. They then explained that they are waiting for another 8 interviewees and that it will be a group interview. The girl in the uniform was asking for a transfer and she was being interviewed just like the rest of us. Only 1 more interviewee turned up so we had a "group" interview of 3 people in front of 4 managers.

The first part was a face to face interview which lasted 30 minutes. I was paired with the manager who gave me the telephone interview and similar questions was asked. Then we was given pen and paper and asked to write down (individually) our own values of good customer service. We had been given 30 minutes for this although 15 would have sufficed. Then we was given 20 minutes to discuss our list with the other 2 interviewees and come to a consensus to the 4 greatest values. Then we had 10 minutes to present our findings to the interviewers.

The interview had been on the Monday and we would be told the results on the following Friday, I was offered the job on the Tuesday! I applied for store 1, interviewed for store 2 and offered a role for store 3!

The interview seemed rushed and unorganised but I felt it was more to get to know me then my past experiences. Everyone in my group got on well with the management and I hope they all got a role with Three.

    Interview Questions
    • All questions had been basic competancy questions like:
      Tell me a time when....
      How have you.....
        Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
No negotiation, they say this is the wage, this is the commission.
