I have been working at UNM Health Sciences Center

    Pros

Flexibility, autonomy, variety, life long learning opportunity.

    Cons

Salary is low versus the service related market. Limited opportunity for advancement in MDcentric academic medical environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When junior faculty self declare intentions to assume greater leadership roles you mentor these persons and make sure that an opportunity to advance in their career exists.
