I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

AT&T is a great company with lots of opportunities to learn a hi-tech business. Yes, I said hi-tech business and has been for years with one of the best networks and strategies that will help support millions of jobs across the U.S. for years to come. The majority of leaders are excellent and you will be given the opportunity and training to become a great leader and communicator - if you are interested in learning! Be prepared to dig in an learn too! Networking is important to advance, so do not think you can just do your job and someone will notice. Leaders want to know you - so get out there and meet as many people as you can! It can't hurt. :-)

    Cons

All companies are interested in getting the most out of their most important resource - people! Will there be organizational changes? Yes! There must be change to keep up with customer demand, offer value to customers and shareholders, and stay ahead of browning demand for telecommunications/internet/Uverse TV service. If you have the drive to learn and more importantly to contribute, then you will strive at AT&.T. Work-life balance is up to each individual and can be accomplished, but it really depends on your personal goals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management really needs to expand the Leadership Development Program (LDP) perks to other employees. You are missing out on some really great employees who are move qualified for openings that automatically go to LDP just because of the program.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay and benefits are pretty impressive for the amount of work that's required. Your commission is where you really make money. If you're good at sales you can expect about 2200-2600 a month plus around 13/hr.

    Cons

There is always something new to sell/promote. Too many of these things pay you nothing and can result in annoying your customer.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Leadership is encouraged at my location.
Many opportunities to climb the ladder if you are willing to work smart.
Benefits are really good but may be a bit costly if you include family members.
Depending on location and management, your inputs will be valued and you are recognized for your hard-work.

    Cons

Micro-managing may exist in some store but overall management is encouraging.
Seniority plays big role in getting time-offs and scheduling.
Customers can sometimes get to you with the "customers are always right" attitude.
