I have been working at Adecco full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Overall quality of staff is excellent - even the crap staff are of high quality compared to other companies!
Fantastic experience - this company will teach you everything about how not to do things. Due to high turnover of staff you will be promoted quickly.f

    Cons

Very poor systems, promises to replace them aren't happening.
Senior Management (UK CEO - Peter) focuses on the front office business with no understanding of what the hamsters on the wheels in back office are dealing with.
    Expect excessive unpaid overtime

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company cannot function without a happy back-office. Stop paying peanuts, recognise that the experienced staff are leaving in their droves due to overwork and underpay. Put Neil in charge.
Restructuring a department won't fix problems if the core job can't be done anyway due to poor systems and office politics.

    Badly managed

Former Employee - TACS Specialist in Chester, England

I worked at Adecco as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

They offered me a job in the geographical area where I needed to work.

    Cons

I found my whole experience with Adecco to be ridiculous, they would agree to holiday time in writing and then attempt to withhold payment on the grounds that it had not been approved. The payment system appeared to change constantly and I would often receive the wrong compensation, they also messed up my tax code and it took a year to sort it out. All in all I would never work with them again. However, this is specific to Adecco with Bank of America - I have no experience of this company outside of this context.

I worked at Adecco full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

There was a good atmosphere amongst the team.

    Cons

Managers were too competitive and political which resulted in confused metrics, goals and handballing of support issues. In particular, setting KPI targets that didn't reflect the aims of the work & showing a basic understanding of IT support.
The managers simply forgot to renew several contracts (they then panicked when replacing the staff).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Combine your support teams and set your measurements to reflect actual work being done instead of oversimplifying it.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Adecco full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the people have great potential, company culture, central location, schemes including cycle to work, recognised recruitment company on CV, opportunity to work with multiple brands

    Cons

Derisory pay increases, New staff brought in on higher salaries, Favouritism at management level, Slow processes and decision making, United Nations style conference calls, Annual conference maintains a tired format. Considering the size of the company the lack of a subsidised Christmas party, IT

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

An understanding that current workers need to be rewarded appropriately or they will leave with their knowledge and experience and you will have to pay more to rehire.
