    I worked at Aflac full-time

    Pros

    They provide ongoing training.

    Cons

Commission only. Your District Manager can get sidetracked with new people, and when you need more hands on work, may find them MIA.

I have been working at Aflac full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The top management provides solid ethical leadership. The company does the right thing. Wonderful name brand recognition. They pay claims quickly making it a great company to represent. They pay associates well. Advanced commissions, stock and renewals make a great compensation package.

    Cons

Too many new associates don't stay and so it's a revolving door. This gives Aflac a bad reputation with brokers and businesses. About 1 in 20 make it long term. 100% commission is not for everyone. The first two years are tough as a new field agent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put more focus on veteran agents. Be more selective on bringing on new agents. Provide incentives to field managers for veteran production instead of new agents.

I worked at Aflac as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Potential to make six figures if you can last 5 years or more or know an owner of a large company in you warm market.

    Cons

Can't speak for other offices but the management is constantly being pressured to meet goals which in turn makes them very stressed in office where I was. Stress passed on to rookies and makes for high turn over in agents.

I have been working at Aflac full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Unlimited income possibilities and can set your own schedule. Great trip rewards and other cash rewards. Job mobility is great and you can work anywhere in the US.

    Cons

Cold calling is very hard in the over saturated market. You work really hard to make a sale that may not even workout. Even if you get past the manager the employees may not buy anything after you've wasted your own resources to make the sale.

I worked at Aflac full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The office was run very professionally. They provided training, on-going assistance, feedback, personal mentoring and resources.

    Cons

It's all cold-calling. If you are out-going and willing to build a network, this may work for you. As a second career for an older person who is not a good salesperson, it may not be for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't take on almost anyone who walks through the door.
