I have been working at Arby's

    Pros

Fun place to work, very flexible schedule, minimal overtime, great bonuses, good pay, great raises, employer matching 401K. This is at a franchise location

    Cons

Health Insurance is kind of expensive and has a high deductible. As with any management job, you will work 50 hours a week.

    I worked at Arby's

    Pros

Arby's was a wonderful first job. You learn what it's like to work with a team and you formclose friendships. Easy to be promoted to a management position with dedication to hard work for the company.

    Cons

Of course with any fast food company you're dealing with the public on a constant basis and sometimes that is really trying on your nerves.

I have been working at Arby's part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Starting hourly wage is $8.
Interviews are usually day of application.
You gain hours per week quickly
    Application process respects personal achievements

    Cons

Moving up to higher pay takes a while

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Always keep a light weight tone, especially with employees younger than 21, simply because from my experience it comes across as nagging and unprofessional.

I have been working at Arby's full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Start above min wage, fast paced, laid back, really care about customers. If you're with a good store manager you're set.

    Cons

Pay isn't great starting out even though it's usually more then min wage and the job is so contingent on who the manager is. No real benefits unless you're higher up

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer more benefits and vacation or sick time to your team and shift managers

    Pros

Co-workers, fairly easy job, majority of customers are easy going and friendly

    Cons

Drive thru "what can I make fresh for you?", takes up my evenings, pay isn't the best

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow for more AM's at each store, offer classes to secure promotion into upper-management, allow for more meeting time with Area Supervisor to establish connections

I have been working at Arby's part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It was a good part time job while attending high school and college. They were always very helpful and completely flexible with my busy schedule. I was promoted to a shift manager once I turned 18, and was asked to become an assistant manager shortly thereafter. Very encouraging and love promotion within.

    Cons

Becoming a Shift Manager was tough. The scheduling became more of a pain. You work long hours and are responsible for your entire team. The shifts are usually 10+ hours, sometimes nonstop during busy days. It takes a toll on you.
