I have been working at Autoliv

    Pros

Interesting work, good people but some departments have little room for growth. Watch out for groups that report directly to European managers as it tends to create a difficult situation with employee trying to serve many needs with little support.

    Cons

Can be very stressful with long hours and many demands. Fluctuations in economy can cause significant impact but this is true for any automotive manufacturer.

I worked at Autoliv full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The lean processes of the company are a benchmark for the automotive industry. I had learn a lot from production control, logistics and assembly. My manager was a great mentor. The environment of working there was also great, with a lot of people helping, specially at the USA facilities.

    Cons

Bad Salary and too much rotation of personnel. HR are their weak management process. The last factory manager was not the adequate leader. during 2years we had 2 factory manager, and every time the leadership and human quality was decreasing

I worked at Autoliv as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

    -Not very stressful environment
    -The managers are nice
    -Cafeteria on top floor
    -Profit sharing for employees

    Cons

    - Company wants to hire through temp agencies as contractors (no benefits), and keep you waiting for a perm position for a LONG time, even though the temp agency promises 6 months at the beginning.
    - Technology isn't evolving very fast
    - Salaries are not very high
    - Lots of meetings
    - A bit disorganized. People get pulled from project to project, always saying it's crisis mode, all hands on board. You never really get deep into your work.

I worked at Autoliv as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I loved the people that I worked with which made my job enjoyable. They don't have a set intern program compared to other employers, but it's up to you to stay busy and find things to make yourself useful.

    Cons

The first few works were very slow getting situated with what I was going to be doing. I ended up reporting to about four people. Two of them kept me very busy and two of them were somewhat non-existent. I had to manage my time and stay busy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Define the job responsibility of each position clearly, so when there is something come up it's clear where to ask for help.

I worked at Autoliv full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked in Autoliv India kundalahalli. No single pros working here

    Cons

very bad higher management and HR.A person who does nt know to speak English is being called a HR here.too much of internal politics.no growth for the employees.no clear roadmap and very bad work life balance. They dont treat you as a human being at all..Very bad culture. No single HR policy to support employees.Compensation is just OK.But dont get tempted to the offer they give you while joining and get lost there without direction.Dont spoil your future. No good work to learn and even people there had no learning attitude or growing attitude.Seriously a sick company and not even a startup company can be as bad as this company. All the time the higher management gives the excuse that the company is a start up even though they have passed 3years.But they dont agree to the fact the other start up companies are doing much better than them.Never seen such a useless managers in my life..They treat you as slaves. They dont provide you any minimum basic facilities.some times even the drinking water is a big issue there.no canteen and no transport facility. Very less leaves per year and if you fall sick for 10 days, they dont support you instead your employment is in danger. They dont have good business and the work they get is junk work and u do them is slavery, not employment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please wake up to the outside world. And treat the employees well. They are professsionals not the slaves

    Pros

    - Gain experience with embedded systems
    - Respectful environment
    - Engineers are willing to help you out

    Cons

    - Internship was slow to start; they get you materials after you arrive, and don't prepare them beforehand
    - Sometimes projects seem to lack direction
    - Sometimes assigned with busywork- not ideal for an engineering internship
    - Some work did not require an engineering degree to handle

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to organize what you want from your interns, prepare objectives and tools required beforehand

I worked at Autoliv as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The work environment was very collaborative. Great mentors to work with and learn on the job. Multiple divisions that Autoliv works on, gives the employee exposure to many fields.

    Cons

As an intern sometimes work was too less. However, this was probably only the result of some circumstances with the division I was working with and would not file as a con in general.
