Cons – it takes time to build a business. not an overnight money maker

Advice to Senior Management – listen to your reps, they are the ones making the company money

Pros – The culture at Avon R&D is one that really inspires personal and professional growth.
You are coupled with a mentor that will help you to overcome challenges and navigate the large corporate environment.
all management fosters a true R&D environment of trying and learning. Failure is not punished and it is expected that when trying to do something new and out of the box you are not going to be successful 100% of the time.

Cons – The people here can sometimes take themselves too seriously. We were making makeup not pacemakers.
Marketing and Product Development have a large turnover and are unorganized resulting in late turn overs and rush sloppy projects

Pros – The people at the local level (Distribution Center) work hard to ensure the reps are taken care of and are like a family.

Cons – Upper managment and New York Corporate especilally thinks the world revolves around them andthey are too far removed from the day to day operations to undertand what truly occurs in the company and how to fix it.

Advice to Senior Management – Get out of NY and talk to the employees in the field who actually serve the reps.

Pros – Easy to get hired or join Avon as a rep.
Low start up cost
Affordable and well know products.

Cons – Shipping costs cut profit terribly.
Fees are added for late orders
Profit percentages are so low to are eaten up in fees, brochure costs, gasoline to deliver products, taxes, and shipping costs.

Pros – Woman friendly organization. If you perform well, they really acknowledge and take care of you. Being a Global company there is opportunity to work with people from all over the world. It is a diverse and fun environment to work in.

Cons – Expensive location. Very difficult to find a good home considering cost. The office is located in upstate NY and the cost of living is pretty high. Day cares and house rents are expensive. This is not a "Con" of the company per se, but just an issue with the location of the office.

Advice to Senior Management – None as of this moment.

Cons – You work off pure commission and it is not a significant amount
