I worked at Banana Republic full-time for less than a year
Pros – Flexible working schedule. Good company culture. Not your typical retail job.
Cons – Nights and weekend hours. Plan to work most holidays, that's just the way retail works.

I have been working at Banana Republic part-time for more than a year
Pros – Can be fun and interesting. There are some great opportunities to learn and grow within the company. You meet some interesting clients (shoppers).
Cons – It is not always the most qualified and capable individuals who get promoted into management. There needs to be more work done in a) hiring managers who are dedicated to the job and take pride in their work and/or b) promoting from within with an emphasis on capability.
Advice to Senior Management – see above

I have been working at Banana Republic part-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Gap Inc. Is a great company that gives time and money to charity. the company is structured and pretty fair, they provide you with the tools to succeed
Cons – They just don't pay enough, thought they pay what most retailers are paying.

I have been working at Banana Republic part-time
Pros – Great GM and co-workers
Quality clothing; brand recognition
Generally great customers
Good for part time; temporary work for students.
Cons – Constant credit card banter and criticism. Asked to not take "no" for an answer.
Job gets boring and repetitive; at times pointless.
Low pay and terribly inconsistent hours.
Inconsistent job duties: you can be a sales associate and the janitor.
Being on-call is inconvenient.
Clothing is not on-trend
No way to move up in company
Advice to Senior Management – You can afford to pay your associates a little bit more. Stop the heavy reliance on credit cards, focus on the actual merchandise.

I have been working at Banana Republic
Pros – The discount is pretty great. You get it to Gap BR Old Navy and the outlets. The hours are flexible. Great for someone in school. Typically you meet some cool people.
Cons – The pay is lousy. It's retail. Management isn't the best. Lots of turnover. No room to grow. The work can be tedious and boring. Customers are rude.
