Strong company with solid pay and benefits, do your job and they will leave you alone

Fraud Analyst (Former Employee)
Kennesaw, GA (US)

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGreat benefits- low cost per pay period and great options, flexibility with schedule, generous attendance policy, fun monthly department meetings, many treats and activities for holidays and special events throughout the year, promotions available, decent cafeteria, free banking

ConsNot much room for growth in call center- team lead, manager, bounce to a different department-that's it, call centers can be "catty", job can be boring

Advice to Senior ManagementRemember call center employees may have other goals within the bank- reach out to them for career advancement opportunities

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Good job for starting or re-entering the work force

Bank of America Teller (Current Employee)
Atlanta, GA (US)

I have been working at Bank of America part-time for more than a year

ProsGreat job for moms re-entering the work force or first time job seekers. Excellent benefits and work/balance. My center has some helpful and nice employees. My BCM is great at helping and the atmosphere is always upbeat and lively.

ConsOnly 20 hours a week. I can't get more hours at my center but I can at another center. There are only two full time positions available and both are full. It's hard to move from part time to full time unless you move to another center that is hiring internally.

You must upsell or sell products to 10% of your daily customers

Advice to Senior ManagementRealize that not every customer through the door wants to be bombarded with questions about upgraded their accounts. Yes, referrals help but customers know what they want and don't want. If a customer is asked the same question at every center, they'll eventually get tired and seek another bank.

– I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Large employer, but little room to grow!

Vice President (Former Employee)
Atlanta, GA (US)

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 5 years

ProsCorporate Banking Perspective.....
-Great clients to work with.
-Great way to gain experience
-Some areas can work from home 1-2 days of the week
-Holidays & PTO given is great!
-Great company matching for 401K.
-Great employees.
-8hr days

Cons-Little room for career growth for VPs and SVPs. It usually requires swapping areas.
-Exec management decides internal proceedures, without understanding current workflows
-Sr. Executives change frequently.
-Issued a corporate card, but not allowed to use for business or team lunches, maintaining certifications, etc unless you're in Sales. Corporate card is useless!
-Rearly pays for certifications or certification renewals.
-Longer tenure managers stuck in old way of doing business!

Advice to Senior Management-Hire or promote stronger Exec. Management.
-Implement 360-degree feedback.
-Listen to newer employees, who have experience with newer technology & tools.

What have you done for me lately?

Personal Banker (Former Employee)
Lagrange, GA (US)

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

ProsInternet access
Empowerment to fix simple issues
Talk to a lot of people
Never boring
Great banking products

ConsMicromanagement
Pressure to perform
Poor bonus structure
Low pay
Cliquish upper management
Poor advancement opportunity
Chew you up and spit you out

Advice to Senior ManagementLet people do their jobs and quit hovering over them like hawks. No one likes to be micromanaged. There are better things to talk about than how many new checking accounts you opened that day or how much money so-and-so brought in to deposit.

Unprofessional

Specialty Fraud Analyst (Former Employee)
Kennesaw, GA (US)

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 8 years

ProsBenefits, time off, and incentive plan.

ConsWorking in Kennesaw credit department became unprofessional. They were hiring anyone and everyone. It was beyond difficult to move up in the company. The job was very stressful and the people there were negative.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire more professional people!!!
