Chester is a Cost Saving Centre

Middle Office Analyst (Current Employee)
Chester, England

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than a year

ProsGood name to put on your CV

ConsMiddle/Back Office Salaries are low. They block you from applying for London positions. They now hire A-Level school leavers. Most people start looking to leave after a year, as there are no salary increases across the floor.

Rewards, challenges and great people

Vice President (Current Employee)
London, England

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than a year

ProsA sense of camaraderie and sincere team efforts. A sense of work life balance and energy.

ConsNot quite as competitive on salary as other bulge-bracket institutions. A little bureaucratic on compliance and excessive on marketing spend.

Pretty pleasant, nice people working there

Intern (Former Employee)
London, England

I worked at Bank of America as an intern for less than a year

ProsLots of friendly people working there.
Decent work/life balance, managed to work a 9-5 without many issues.
Decent work-load, nothing too difficult.

ConsThe view out of the window wasn't great.
Lots of redundancies in certain departments after the crisis made it a bit depressing.
Work got a tiny bit repetitive after a while.

A well organised and exciting Internship but a very confusing hiring policy.

Summer Analyst (Former Employee)
London, England

I worked at Bank of America as an intern for less than a year

ProsGreat salary, great people, good office facilities, very interesting work. A real commitment to the development of recent graduates.

ConsSome very arrogant employees who refuse to give interns respect or acknowledgement. A huge amount of positive discrimination in terms of offers of employment. Your chances of gaining an offer are nearly 100% if you are female but about 25% if you're male.

Advice to Senior ManagementVery well organised internship but the evident discrimination of the hiring process needs some work.
