Good company to work for but you have to be willing to move to get promoted.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Baxter full-time for more than 10 years

ProsGlobal company with a good track record in the Phramaceutical industry.

ConsImprovements are very slow in implementation.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide opportunities for employees to be promoted, even if they have to move to other facilities. Several have left the Thousand Oaks facility and relocated to other companies into higher positions.

It was the Greatest of Great during my time under W Illiam Graham and later Vernon Loucks

Group Engineering Manager Uuntil 81/82 (Former Employee)
Round Lake, IL (US)

I worked at Baxter full-time for more than 3 years

ProsBack in the good old days each and every one was treated like " one of the Baxter family" the Janitor had the same healthcare benefits I had as a middle manager.

ConsCannot thing of any down sides, but some internal politics starting coming in after Graham/Loucks influence was weaning away as contemporary Gantz III started getting powerful politically.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemember it is the People the workers at almost all levels that madea difference in Baxter being what it became. My Last year was 81/82

Not impressed

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Baxter full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGood benefits, decent salary, flexibility is good but can be better

ConsLack of communication or no communication, minimal to no training, everyone is spread thin, no room for growth, process improvement is slow, things are made harder than it needs to be

Advice to Senior ManagementImprove on communication regarding changes (good or bad), provide better feedback on PMO, keep your talented workers engaged and be open minded to new ideas, favoritism should not be shown to certain employees
