I worked at Burger King full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Plenty of training and support. Long hours and loads of travel as I covered over half of the country. But, they also allowed flexibility in scheduling and let me keep my own travel points.

    Cons

Bad timing as I was let go during a "right-sizing" post Diageo acquisition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lost a tremendous amount of talented people in the "right-sizing". I can't imagine their long term value outweighed the talent drain.

I have been working at Burger King full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You get a paycheck every two weeks like clockwork. You get free food. They provide shirts and ties.

    Cons

Unless you have an urban cultural background, this job is pure frustration from beginning to end. If you are from a challenging area of town then go for it. It is easier if you are one of many.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With current low wage scales, you can't fix the staff. I would say that changing the product is the only hope you have. The whopper is an old sandwich and that "reinventing" it by constantly putting different condiments on it is not working. You need a new sandwich. If you bring back in a turkey sandwich your sales would skyrocket.

I worked at Burger King full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Loved working with my crew and managers. I loved the regular customers that would come in on a daily basis. You really got to know some of them.

    Cons

No training, they expect a lot of work with no help or proper training. Not enough pay and long hours

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to treat your staff better. I worked there 13 years before I left. The management turnover was awful. They would just throw new managers on with no training or help.
