Pros – Cardinal Health is a great company to work for. Despite complaints of low salaries, I feel that reasonable pay can be achieved if you earn it. The company offers excellent stability through diversity, great benefits, and a very flexible work environment.
Cons – It is a large corporate environment which lends itself to the challenge of staying on top of the initiatives in place. The company is in growth mode and has been with many acquisitions leading to some disorder and inconsitencies
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Cardinal Health
Pros – If you are a pharmacist and want to leave community it is good because it gives you the opportunity to start in Industry, the job itself is beautiful if you want to deepen into Galenic Pharmacy. You are in charge of releasing creams, ointments, asepti products, and of formulating other products so you get a lot of experience and insight in the job.
Cons – The management is incompetent, very weak and no recognition to success, no flexibility in Holidays. They are starting to implement shift work and instead of making room for more people opening for part time jobs (mothers, students etc) they are loosing good people that would be able to work as hard.
There are a lot of secrets going on that staff is not supposed to know and this makes a bad environment in the team,
Advice to Senior Management – I would make them ask for feedback from their employees

Current Employee – been working at Cardinal Health
Pros – A mostly flexible working attitude.A generally friendly atmosphere within departments.
Cons – There are many! The chief gripes are that salaries being appreciably lower than uk and regional average. Limited career progression. Lack of quality benefits and very poor pay increases which do not reflect the effort, skills, experience and qualifications of the staff (particularly for those not at management level!). When researched it can be found that the average salaries at the Romford site are now in line with that of the uk pharma average from over 10 years ago!
Advice to Senior Management – Learn to relate to staff needs outside of work more. Bring salaries up to uk average for the pharmaceutical industry to attract higher skilled staff and hence improve the efficiency and profits of the company!!

Former Employee – worked at Cardinal Health full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – The culture of CHA closely mirrored my beliefs and ethics. The employees were amazing and I enjoyed going to work.
Cons – The only Con was that my division was eliminated and so was my career with CHA.
Advice to Senior Management – The 2008-2009 economy downturn eliminated our business...pharma marketing. No advice-our Management Group was amazing! Cardinal Health-the best Company-the best people-the best career. I truly miss Cardinal Health!!!!!!

Current Employee – been working at Cardinal Health full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great paid time off options.
Flexibility in areas such as working from home or flex-time based on position.
Sr. Management seems to really understand what it takes to be successful and cares about employees.
There is a focus on positive change from Sr. Management.
Cons – Middle management disrupts the plans of senior management and then loses the message. By the time if gets to those that have to do the work it is not what Sr. Management was looking for but rather skewed to benefit the plans of the Middle management.
It takes some time to understand how to get things done efficiently. There are many management layers and most are focused on their individual areas to a point that it sometimes causes contention and slows down the efforts of those that just want to do their work properly and efficiently.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your Sr. Management staff and quit misinterpreting their goals.

Current Employee – been working at Cardinal Health full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Flexible schedule, friendly coworkers, 401k
Cons – Management is replaced almost annually, when you get comfortable with a group of people they are all replaced by new and completely inexperienced people.
Advice to Senior Management – Respect employees opinions, work life balance and compensate better for great work.

Current Employee – been working at Cardinal Health full-time for less than a year
Pros – Great training. Always having a catered lunch or potluck (free food). Conveniently located. Room for growth and promotion.
Cons – Not very understanding if you get sick a lot. Not willing to work with you on paid days off. Workers who have been there long complain all the time so it can cast a negative shadow to new hires.
Advice to Senior Management – Be more flexible with scheduling.

Former Employee – worked at Cardinal Health as an intern for less than a year
Pros – Warm and friendly culture -- my manager in particular was extremely inviting and understanding. I had two performance reviews throughout the summer and received a lot of valuable feedback. In addition, I felt that my manager very much wanted to help me with my professional goals even after the program ended.
Intern programming was excellent; we had numerous events each week which included community service, professional development, and social events.
Subsidized housing was nice, too.
Upper management was VERY personable and I felt they sincerely wanted to meet and interact with the interns. We had the chance to meet and interact with the CEO and the other members of the C-suite.
Cons – I actually felt the work wasn't fast-paced enough, but this may have been because I was just an intern. I also didn't like the concept of "work politics", although admittedly this is likely prevalent at most companies. Finally, one reason I chose not to return for full-time was due to the compensation.
Advice to Senior Management – As another review mentioned, the GPA requirement for full-time recruitment is rather short-sighted and appears to be independent of the intern's actual performance at the company. For example, interns who wanted to enter the Finance EMERGE program had a very strict GPA requirement of 3.50.
