Good job but a local company

Project Manager (Current Employee)
Taipei (Taiwan)

I have been working at Chunghwa Telecom full-time for more than 10 years

ProsGood salary if you're freshman here. Good opportunity to work with some smart people here. Nice working environment and work-life balanced.

ConsSalary grows slowly. Too many meetings for management to make decisions. The average employee's age is more than 40-year-old. Sometimes we have communication generation gap.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep moving forward!

ProsGood for people with family, won't get you rich, but you can live with normal and peace life.

ConsMore and more pressure in the rent year, company EPS is getting lower because of government policy, worry about company future.

Fairly good company if you want to strike a balance between work and life in Taiwan

Assistant Clerk (Current Employee)
Taipei (Taiwan)

I have been working at Chunghwa Telecom full-time for more than a year

Pros1.The largest ISP company in Taiwan, so there are some large-scale programming projects, and you can gain different working experiences compared with other companies.

2.Non-Exempt Employee in most situations:
This is the rarely "benefit" for labors in Taiwan.
If you work overtime accidentally, you have the right to claim overtime wages, but it is impossible to do it in most of the companies in Taiwan.

ConsLike most large companies, bureaucracy and unsuitable regulation or would be the big burdens of this company.
1.When you are working, you have to make a choice between pursuing greatness or obeying the standard operation procedure of some criteria e.g. ISO

2.Some of people here just do their jog with lazy attitude, because they are too old to pursue greatness.

3.It takes a lot of time to do routines e.g. you are asked to be a visitor at a meeting, although maybe it does not concern you a lot.

Advice to Senior ManagementReasonable key performance index is the basic requirement of our grass-root level workers.

Intense workload but the compensation was good.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Chunghwa Telecom

ProsIt's a company with the best resource you can get compared to any other telecom companies.
Employee training is sufficient; the training facility is quite well-equipped.
Annual salary plus bonus makes the company a good place to work for.

ConsVery bureaucratic, the more local office you work for, the more bureaucratic they are.
Young talents have little chances to show their talent; following orders/superiors is quite important to survive in this company.
Pay heavy attention to sales achievements.

Advice to Senior ManagementChange bureaucratic culture and give young talents more opportunities
Stop blocking the development of networking infrastructure
Being more socially responsible
