Experience will vary based upon location

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Cintas full-time for more than 3 years

ProsLots of responsibility and unique leadership opportunities that will be given based purely upon merit. Age and seniority play little to no role in promotions. It is all about what are your accomplishments and what can you do in the new position. I was responsible for over $3 million dollars in yearly spend and 12 employees at a very young age. It was an awesome responsibility and an experience that will shape me for the rest of my life.

ConsYour experience will vary from location to location, region to region, and business unit to business unit. In my experience, the pay was awful, the hours were long, and the work could be disgusting. The biggest problem was that a lot of the goals set for management teams by corporate or regional were unrealistic. This resulted in rampant cheating by people trying to keep their jobs.

Advice to Senior ManagementCome up with a realistic and systematic method for setting goals on a location by location basis to stop the rampant cheating. For instance, I don't see our Detroit location growing by 20% in a year when the city is on life support. Who comes up with these nonsensical goals? I understand pushing people to succeed, but that is just nonsense.

Compensation not worth the work.

Account Coordinator (Former Employee)
Cincinnati, OH (US)

I worked at Cintas full-time for more than a year

ProsMy particular department had great training by many people, allowing me to get to know others and have a solid idea of how to do my job. Supervisors and managers in my department were all wonderful people who treated us like adults which is how it should be. Overtime was limited to only two hours over 40, anything else required approval.

ConsThe pay was not at all commensurate with the job responsibilities. A 2% raise on $12/hour handling multi-million dollar accounts was such a joke I literally laughed when I was told (to be fair, my supervisor thought it was just as awful as I did). Benefits were okay, vacation time not so great. Senior management gave face time to lower employees but didn't really like to listen to problems, perceived or otherwise. Management trainees were mostly men with just enough of a smattering of females to consider themselves "equal opportunity." Work limited to 40 hours, but enough work for 50+ so be prepared to let things fall by the wayside on a regular basis.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider better wages and benefits to retain talent. Also have management engage in regular discussions about career growth and opportunities.

Hard work will pay off, I hope

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Allentown, PA (US)

I have been working at Cintas full-time for more than a year

ProsGreat hours, I like my co-workers, job security, paid weekly, and managers that actually care about teaching you how to advance your career with Cintas. I think my manager really wants me to become a better leader

ConsPay could be a lot better, no vacation/sick time in first year. It gets very hot in the summer months. Teamwork between drivers and plant partners could be better. I feel like we clean up their mess when they bring back their unorganized trucks.

Advice to Senior ManagementDiscipline drivers who don't care, there are many employees that would love to have their job and do it good. Give us the ability to get promoted faster.
