I have been working at Cisco Systems India full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The Product design and development was so clear as i[senior developer] was literally involved with many stakeholders like Program management, Customer Facing Engineers, Product Test teams etc. Further my duration of stay[4 years] helped me understand in-and-out of the PowerKey Solution. Thus i was able to handle all customer issues as well. Travelled to OCN Shanghai, China and Den,Delhi on Cisco business trips.

    Cons

Actually the overall time that you spend in Cisco Systems adds to your professional portfolio and increases the experience of how big multinationals work and deliver solutions to client. Thus sometimes, the project management does not give clear roadmaps on the product.

I have been working at Cisco Systems India full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    1) Work life balance
    2) Pays Bonus even when the market might not be great.
    3) Senior management is approachable.
    4) Team members are generally and genuinely very helpful.
    5) if you are working on a good projects the learning is simply too good.
    6) Tech-talks, trainings and tech-related events are awesome.

Apart from the above, plenty of benefits such as. [listing few of them]
    1) Company pays for Broadband @ home.
    2) Flexible working hours [as long as work is not getting impacted]
    3) Medicare and Annual health check-ups.
    4) 'Superb' Cab facility.
    5) Child care facility in the campus.
    6) The Bangalore Campus is simply amazing. I've seen people coming to office on weekends to relax, walk, play and have fun.

    Cons

    1) Off late too many organisational changes. [might be a good thing; not according to me]
    2) "Crying baby gets more milk" -- sort of a mentality. Hikes and promotions not always awarded per 'merit'.
    3) Good amount of churn in the senior management suggesting things might not be that stable currently.
    4) Most of the times your roadmap is not clear. Maximum visibility is I guess for coming 3 months.
    5) Sometimes it is just fire fighting for weeks and months. Whatever comes up has 'ASAP' tagged to it.

I worked at Cisco Systems India full-time

    Pros

Wonderful place if you are looking out for work life balance.
    Good Career opportunities.
No disparity between offshore and onsite teams

    Cons

Very less teams, have Product Management in India which give less exposure at design level.
With Emphasis on re-orgs, relocations CISCO is loosing Talent. Best example is the recent Business Unit move from Hyd to Blore with no second option ,except immediate resignation, given to the Talent, who could not move their families for their own personal reasons.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers with less Technical Knowledge makes employees life, really tough. So Management has to work out on those areas to make their expectations reality.
