I worked at Cisco Systems India full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of BUs which give opportunity to move around if one wants to have change in the domain.
    Freedom to innovate

    Cons

    Job cuts every quarter
No long term vision or planning shared with employees
Attrition rate is high, and company is happy about losing talent

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please take time off to understand why engineers leave to find better opportunities outside. After all its there will be no CISCO if there aren't any bright folks around.

I worked at Cisco Systems India full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    flexibility
lots of choices/options and if you are really determined, you can push ahead

    Cons

As with any big company, lots of levels in the hierarchy and as a result too much of managers and people with overlapping roles in the middle mgmt.
Each BU or sometimes each project is like a separate company and the team culture depends on how the individual managers act.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you really want to grow, listen to the employees at the lowest 3/4 levels more. They are the folks who do the actual work.

I have been working at Cisco Systems India full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

*Best part is the flexibility to work. Flexible timings, work from home.
*One of the best infrastructure, good gym.
    *Cab facility
    *Enough scope to learn

    Cons

*You may not get hikes for couple of years in a row
*Very senior people are still waiting for their promo.
*Depends but chances are you have to take calls sometimes even at late night
*If you are more into customer issues you will be stressed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In recent times management does not seem to care at all of good talents. People with integrity or honesty.
Good People are leaving cisco either through layoffs or better growth opportunity. Cisco does not seem to bother at all. Please Focus on real people not just people who create unnecessary email traffic to draw attention.
    In the long run
