    Cons

It's a big company and easy to feel a bit lost as the various divisions don't always understand each other or work well together

Diabolical benefits and treatment of employees. Pretending to be a consultancy when it's not.

    Pros

Good exposure to the IT sector.

    Cons

If you apply to their Business Consultancy arm - be under no illusion, they are anything but. You will be expected to go for interviews for roles at the clients (often against contractors - because that's pretty much what you'll be doing). Once you're in and earning the fees. Don't expect any further support like a consultancy would be.

Benefits is disgraceful. They waited until the last minute before taking part in the employer contribution of pensions (and had the cheek to tell us that they have chosen to avail of this right to defer). 20 days holiday (yes, 20). No computer assigned (you have to fight for the 1-2 available PC on the hotdesk if you're on the bench), no mobile phone (expected to put your PERSONAL mobile number on business card - what?!).

The majority of the UK office is staffed by offshore staff, and it shows in their reputation as a stack em high, sell em cheap "consultancy". You'll be seen by your clients as an offshore IT staff, rather than a member of a management consultancy they are pretending to be (and obviously failing miserably).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest, if you want to establish yourself as a credible UK Management Consultancy - act accordingly! Stop bodyshopping. Don't make the UK staff feel like they're working in India and remunerate them accordingly.

I have been working at Cognizant Technology Solutions full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Slightly above average in pay in IT consulting;

    Cons

Lot of regional bias in specific geographies evident in promotions, appraisals, new opportunities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promotion/appraisal process is still very non-transparent and hence lot of good people leave due to being sidelined due to regional bias

  7.

Not a great consultancy to work with.

I have been working at Cognizant Technology Solutions

    Pros

They offer you a decent pay, and the interviewer seems very knowledgeable and friendly. But the projects are not any better than a body shop model practised during dotcom boom.

    Cons

. No process followed, no guidelines, so it is very chaotic situation at most of the client locations. Senior Managers do not have a clue as what is happening at ground level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider bringing in working models and follow Accenture in employee relationship and culture.
