Current Employee – been working at DSG International (Dixons Retail) part-time for less than a year
Pros – Excellent training, diligent team leaders, sufficient amount of breaks and good access to windows. Great opportunities of promotion.
Cons – Chances of getting moved around, i.e different teams or even different floors. There are days when calls are very few and the systems tend to fail to often resulting in long holds and transfers.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at DSG International (Dixons Retail) full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Some nice people, and young and fun to be with workforce. Dixons can serve as a springboard to work at on the manufacturing side, which pays a lot more.
Cons – Slave wages - the staff turnover is incredible. Nobody seems very happy at all both in their role and with the culture of the company as a whole. Absolutely miles behind the competition in terms of planning and strategising in middle management. For too much heirarchy, Senior management have no idea on the amount of time it takes to get the most simple things done due to excessive beurocracy.
Advice to Senior Management – Fancy top level cosmetic changes are not the answer to all of your prayers. Look at systems and processes to make progress happen.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – The business is not just tweaking, it's a true turnaround. Some of the top people in UK retail are there so the opportunity to work with the best turning the business around is unique.
Cons – The company has a very poor attitude to personal development and has a weak talent management process. Needs to recognise the hard work of the workforce.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't forget that the business is built on the strength and passion of its people. Whilst everybody is energised by the variety and exciting work, the business needs find better ways to recognise this.

Former Employee – worked at DSG International (Dixons Retail)
Pros – Easy to get positions, but may not be the most flexible around holidays. Good to work for if you want part time, and also not bothered about actually getting bonuses etc- most are not really available. The team in some stores can be great friends that you will always remember- in the lower turnover (i.e. good management) stores that is! If you know someone who works at one- ask them about the management- it can make alot of difference. I went through management changes and boy were new management digging a hole for themselves in the store as morale plummets!
Cons – No christmas/new year holidays allowed, plus not much flexibility if you want more hours over fewer days. Expect to possibly get 'done over' when it comes to overtime, good faith work, and also working at the higher position and getting it paid to you in back dated pay- just do not fall for it. Although At times it can be quite a good place to be.
Whatever you do, try to enjoy it, and remember you do not need to go in for their pushing- you have the ability to do things your way- your not paid by commission so serve the customer in your personal advantage.
Advice to Senior Management – Find out about the ones at your store- your store managers make a would of difference. One store management team were superb- and it refelected in the customer service- most others are terrible

Current Employee – been working at DSG International (Dixons Retail)
Pros – Most of the staff are friendly and there's a fairly decent team spirit.
Cons – Poor pay, constant pressure, being forced to push products you may not believe in, management constantly fail to sort out problems, favouritism towards certain members of staff, a lack of appreciation for hard work, little support from other sections of the company, constant staff shortages, little opportunity for personal advancement, you receive next to no training unless you opt to do it in your own time, product knowledge isn't valued as highly as the ability to sell warranties
Advice to Senior Management – Decrease the focus on extended warranties, or at least offer term cover again alongside the PAYG model. Employ an HR team that actually sorts out staff problems rather than one that claims they will but never do. Stop trying to screw over customers in pursuit of profits.

Former Employee – worked at DSG International (Dixons Retail)
Pros – Can't think of much - Staff discount and occasional incentives
Cons – High pressure to sell additional insurance, often unneeded. Poor, superficial training. Some dreadful products.
Advice to Senior Management – Less of the management speak, and actually do something. Hi-Tech products need staff with more hi tech knowledge.
