Panama City, FL (US)

Current Employee – been working at Darden part-time for less than a year

ProsManagement is easy going. Learn mostly by trial and error. Relatively easy work as long as you keep track of everything, and pay can me good on most days.

ConsCommunication can be disorganized at times. Employees that bring personal problems to work. Having to find management for all approvals.

Current Employee – been working at Darden full-time for more than 8 years

ProsGreat company. Compensation & Benefits are really good. upper management is really good.

Cons60 + hour a week. Work/ life is horrible. the restaurant industry is still in the stone age. When it comes to this. It is getting harder and harder to get and keep qualified managers at 60 + hours a week.

Advice to Senior ManagementMandatory no more than 50 hours a week. you will keep your manager a lot longer.

Current Employee – been working at Darden full-time for more than 10 years

ProsThe company is stable and divers. The company has a lot of growth.

ConsIt is very hard to advance in you career. You have to know some one to advance.

Advice to Senior ManagementLet people apply for job promotions that want to continue their career advancement. This will help the people in smaller remote cities and they will not get over looked. After all we moved the "little City" to help the company.

Former Employee – worked at Darden

ProsA supportive management team and company design that really focuses on its employees stability and happiness on and off the job. You can tell a real care goes into making the work place like a second home.

ConsIn house management can seem a bit overwhelmed at times when on track to meet company quotas which trickles down to the waitstaff causing for a more stressful work environment. I think better care needs to go into choosing team leader who understand thoroughly the art of stress management.
