Former Employee – worked at Dassault
Pros – You can work there and surf the web all day but who wants to do that?
Cons – First of all, they sell vaporware. Their product was a joke. They can show some great powerpoint slides about how it should work. Entitlement mentality was rampant in employees a lot of who are ex IBMers.
Advice to Senior Management – Management lives in an Ivory tower and was totally out of touch with what was going on in the company
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Dassault full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Very good products! Breathtaking Technology! Very focused and enthusiastic CEO.
Cons – It seems to me that the company doesn't care about Latin America. All the people hired for the management positions are not from the area, and most of them got a very poor view over the solution and the market. There are no sales strategies and I always felt like a firemen. No career development, most of the talents (90%) from the technical area left the company, because they didn't agree to how things are managed.
There are two Dassault Systèmes, one outside LA and another in LA. Bad work environment and no communication between sales and technical areas. In 5 years never saw a strategy coming from the management team. Looks like a family company with no focus.
Advice to Senior Management – Coach Training. Hire new people from the field to the management positions.

Former Employee – worked at Dassault full-time
Pros – Beautiful new Boston HQ
Great People
Great Benefits
Relaxed Atmosphere
Open door policy with most executives
Cons – TERRIBLE, UNSUPPORTIVE HR STAFF
Compensation varies across the brands - the guy sitting next to you doing the same job will earn significantly more because he is part of a different legal entity.
Awful compensation for the Boston area....negotiate strong up front because no matter how far up the ladder you go, HR will not support a bump in compensation.
Many of the SolidWorks people think they are better than the rest of the organization.
Advice to Senior Management – Start paying your US employees appropriately.
Watch what the HR business partners are doing, they should not be running the show.
Tell the SolidWorks people in the US to stop crying (or leave) it is destroying the culture/morale.

Former Employee – worked at Dassault full-time for more than a year
Pros – Most of the management team is knowledgeable about the products and are technically competent. Technical skills are valued and there are opportunites to grow.
Cons – With growth there is the challenge of integrating new people and companies. They are still working on integrating the different teams and getting the expanding product line integrated.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to work on how to fully integrate remote workers and geographically dispersed teams.

Former Employee – worked at Dassault full-time
Pros – Great employees
Great products
Place in market/industry favorable
Cons – Communication poor
Employee recognition poor
Career development and training poor
Trust in management low
Advice to Senior Management – Realize your greatest asset is your employees and take better care of them. You hired them for their expertise, let them use it and stop holding them back. Pay better attention within management teams, there are some very incompetent people in some very critical positions.

Former Employee – worked at Dassault full-time
Pros – - Exposure to PLM products such as CATIA, ENOVIA, etc. heavily used in many fields of engineering
- Friendly and supportive teammates
- Possibility to travel and consult at different customers worldwide, if interested
- Great office location near metro station (in Old Montreal)
Cons – - Low pay compared to industry standards
- Very high turnover in the Engineering department. If you have a background in Mechanical Engineering, you might not stay very long in the company, unless you are willing to change departments and/or willing to work more in the IT/computer engineering field (since it's a software company).
Advice to Senior Management – Change the strategy of the Engineering department; it's bleeding out.

Current Employee – been working at Dassault full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great working environment, lots of benefits, the biggest French software development company
Cons – Poor project and human management, expertise in development is not properly recognized, objectives are always changing and technical subject as well as big technological choices are made by the wrong people. It is the same 5 peoples who have the power to decide every choices.
Advice to Senior Management – Recognize high technical expertise profiles and put them in charge of technicalities. It cannot be the same 5 people deciding of everything.
