Former Employee – worked at Deutsche Bank full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – DB is a global force with many roles HQ'd out of NY or London, although Frankfurt does poke its nose on a fairly regular basis. If you're the right fit, lots of opportunities to travel internationally and has a robust training/appraisal system. Good bonus structure (HR/Reward department)
Cons – Internal promotions can often be based on "jobs for the boys" rather than true merit, which can lead to frustration. Generally DB is seen as a stepping stone or lifer: you're either there for 3 or 4 years, or for 20+. Pay can be good at the outset but unless you're the chosen one(s), salary increments can be poor.
Advice to Senior Management – Please base internal promotions on a meritocracy. Listen to your staff.

Current Employee – been working at Deutsche Bank full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – No pros at all, rubbish bank to work for.
Cons – A big bank from outside, Rotting inside. Bullies, never appreciate hardworks, love bullshitters. No clear career development, concentrate on rubbish internal campaigns, treat staff as a number.London control and treat Birmingham staff like slaves
Advice to Senior Management – Keep an eye on middle management in Birmingham. Senior management in London

Current Employee – been working at Deutsche Bank full-time
Pros – Global brand recognised by clients and investors facilitating winning mandates over competitors
Safe pair of hands in turbulent markets especially Europe
Prestige
Good learning ground for new starters
Cons – Not a great corporate culture. Way too much bureaucracy.
Too many weak managers and mediocre senior people
This bank is NOT a meritocracy so if you are mid level and bright it will be years before you are either promoted or properly remunerated. T/O of star staff quite high at present.
Compensation and bonus pretty poor by market standards
Advice to Senior Management – You need to work hard at making this bank an employer of choice, try competing in best place to work at - may encourage culture change and developing some empathy for your staff that spend more hours at your institution than with their loved ones.
Cut the bureaucracy
Cut the politics - the investment bankers have taken over the ship , now give it some strong leadership in the ranks and set a course that has all stakeholders' buy-in
Get rid of the 5s and 6s and start promoting 9s and 10s
If you want good people, and you want to keep them, you have to pay them

Former Employee – worked at Deutsche Bank
Pros – Decent pay, great offices, relaxed atmosphere most of the time, but hard working and professional
Cons – the internal politics, the lack of senior managers admitting mistakes, and the gap in pay and promotion to a lot of people who deserve it to the people who tell the bosses they look great every day.
Advice to Senior Management – don't listen to the guy trying to butter you up for a big bonus. There are a lot of people in this place doing a great job making their managers look good and getting pain nothing.

Current Employee – been working at Deutsche Bank
Pros – Its a tech friendly place to work in. There are a lot of good people, who are easily approachable and friendly, usually supportive of employees and allows you a good balance of work and life.
Cons – lack of established processess, information sharing especially from management side is lacking, you only get told at the last minute. Sutck to some pre concieved ideas even though there is clear signs that it is not working.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to people working on the ground and don't make too frequent changes on the roadmap. Accept when things are not working.
