I have been working at Duff & Phelps full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good training on promotion, excellent facilities, flat management structure, senior management is approachable, the company supports employees in getting financial qualifications, good hours.

    Cons

The brand is not recognisable in UK, below average compensation. The fact that the company is headquartered in US is very evident elsewhere. High turnaround, majority of people work about 2-3 years in the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Concentrate your efforts on European and Asian offices.

I worked at Duff & Phelps full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are still some good people there. Work life balance is marginal, but good opportunities to learn.

    Cons

Culture was very collaborative years ago, not so much today. Managing directors run the show, and with a number of RIFs in the last few years, a lot of the good ones have left and the ones that are still there are willing to stab each other in the back to get credit for revenues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Address the internal rot that is happening or you will continue to lose more good people. The pay is not better than competitors, so you will continue to lose the brightest and the best at all levels if the environment continues to be one where people don't like coming to work. The most capable people will go where they are rewarded with the best pay and an environment that is positive. Today, Duff does not have either of those.

    Pros

Great work-life balance. Work isn't that taxing, and can lead to good experience to spring board you somewhere else.

    Cons

Lower than industry compensation, favoritism, in-house politics. Don't think of this place as a career-path, because no one else besides upper level employees do.
