I worked at Eastman Kodak full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, good salary and benefits. The people work really hard to make things happen despite any red tape. Overall during the years it has been a good company to work for but latterly not so great.

    Cons

Poor long term strategy. Atmosphere was not very good after going in to Chapter 11 in 2012. Not sure how long the company will survive in to 2014 and beyond.

I worked at Eastman Kodak full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

At Kodak I had great co-workers and was paid well especially given the low cost of living in Rochester. I found it to have a supportive environment for new employees.

    Cons

The company was in disarray and was laying off people right and left making the work environment very stressful. I also found living in Rochester to be challenging, preferring bigger, more economically stable cities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the work environment less dismal.

I worked at Eastman Kodak full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere, benefits and salary are competitive, good perks, good work/life balance. A team oriented environment, you can count on your co-workers.

    Cons

Always seem to be a step behind on the technology train. Communication is not a priority and can lead to mistrust of management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a clue! Stop the bureaucratic red tape! You don't need a process to write a process. Focus on what you have in front of you and trust your employees to make the right decisions.

    Pros

Generally good natured, positive people throughout.

    Cons

No raises, bankruptcy, your boss changed every 3 months, always looking over your shoulder due to massive layoffs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out what you want to do and stick to it. You own a zillion patents and have one of the top brand names in the world. Shouldn't be that tough.

I worked at Eastman Kodak full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great working people that want to do a good job. The folks I worked with did a fine job trying to make things work. Saving pennies anywhere they could.

    Cons

Poor upper management decisions have drive this company into bankruptcy, out of bankruptcy and appearing to be heading back that way. Only way to make ends meet is to downsize again, again and again. Be careful if you want to work here. The marketing side needs to be overhauled to be able to be competitive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get it together sometime!!!
