I worked at Eastman Kodak full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, good salary and benefits. The people work really hard to make things happen despite any red tape. Overall during the years it has been a good company to work for but latterly not so great.

    Cons

Poor long term strategy. Atmosphere was not very good after going in to Chapter 11 in 2012. Not sure how long the company will survive in to 2014 and beyond.

Current Employee - Manufacturing Engineer in Rochester, NY (US)

I have been working at Eastman Kodak full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The people at this company are the best reason to work there. They are smart, productive and friendly. The compensation package is good. The company values are honesty and integrity and usually maintained. People who want to advance can usually find a path.

    Cons

There is one major con. The company is shrinking in employees. There are constant reductions and reorganizations. Budgets are tight and spending cash is tightly controlled with multiple levels of required. The systems in place were designed for a working populations of tens of thousands and there are only thousands left.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to streamline the systems. Hold program directors responsible for not meeting their goals. The marketing group needs to sell equipment, not give it away in hopes that the customer will eventually buy it. If they actually spoke to the individual contributors (engineers, assembly, purchasing, etc) They would be much farther ahead than just looking at plans provide the program directors.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
