Working for Accenture has made me more resourceful, pro-active, and confident as a worker, and as a person in general.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Great multitude of opportunities for work, and professional development
    - A highly capable, hard-working, intelligent work-force
    - Strong, respected company and brand

    Cons

    - Work-life balance is often challenging. Hours can be long (except for workaholics like me).
    - The consulting workforce can be challenging, with a move up, or move out policy
    - Pay could be more competitive

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Job/performance expectations should be very clearly defined, equally, to both the worker, and the managers that rate them for promotions and raises.
No longer should people be rewarded above higher performers, simply because they are "more visible" to managers/supervisors.
-- This is not a personal gripe, but rather, an observation I have made across multiple projects and employees, through many years with the company.

I worked at Accenture as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Very invested in the improvement of their employees and interns.

A meritocracy company that attempts to be as transparent as possible in your rating versus other employees of the same level.

While competitive, very much a team environment. Your ability to perform is much more important than your age.

    Cons

Was given continues positive feedback until last day of internship. On the last day, I was told that a job offer would not be extended to me. When requested, no specifics were given to me as to why that decision was made.

Continuous escalation of work commitment. The hours worked increased every week, there was never a week with less work than the last. Hours worked ranged from 60 hours to 90 hours towards the end of the assignment.

Most people were more interested in the salary they made than the personal satisfaction derived from their work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure that consultants, managers, senior managers, and partners are on the same page when it comes to intern review and performance feedback.
