I worked at Accenture full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great training, great people, ability to work across broad range of projects if you are proactive and network internally, interesting clients and opportunity to work on high impact initiatives

Cons

Long hours and face time on projects that are not well managed (although not true of all projects), semi-lock step promotion schedule instead of completely merit based, low bonuses

I worked at Accenture full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Good Core Values
    - Huge Opportunities to shape career
    - Good for leadership development
    - Huge Onsite opportunities
    - Very good organization for freshers/start up engineers and campus recruits.

    Cons

There is no such things as cons..its just people whom you work with and how you shape your career in an organization.
There are good managers and leadership who influence you most at the same time there are worst people with fake experiences at the leadership and management level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HR/Leadership teams should provide managers(not all many are excellent leaders) some basic leadership training and managers should not become game players, In my tenure I have seen managers play most of the politics, given a chance they would have become good politicians who can lead the country.

My teams had contractors got in by management who lagged in any of the skills and were put to work, most of them looked like relatives of managers.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

At Accenture you can get client exposure early on in your career. You will have visibility to a lot of different types of industries, clients, client culture. You may get to climb the corporate ladder quickly.

If you like a project/ role, best to try to stay with the same management/ type of work. If you don't like a project, you can request to switch. Do this early if something is not a right fit.

    Cons

There is sometimes a sense that you are just another employee and that your individual needs are not important. If you are in a situation where you face a long commute or long hours, you may feel like you can not request a change from your manager because of a sense that someone else in your peer group will without complaint. You determine what you are willing to deal with. Set your expectations with your manager early on and touch base frequently.

The main promotion cycle is yearly, depending on what time you come in, you could be on the fast track or you could have to wait another year. Promotions are based on your work but are also strongly based on who you know in the organization. Build a strong relationship with your direct manager and career counselor.
