Pros

The mission of the Red Cross is truly inspiring and it makes the organization a wonderful organization to work for.

Cons

Outdated equipment and technology make it harder for employees to do their jobs and decreases efficiency. In addition, lower salaries discourage the most talented and qualified professionals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to deal with issues when it's brought to their attention rather than bury their head in the sand and ignore the problems.

I have been working at American Red Cross full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Good opportunity to work for a non profit that runs like a business.

    Cons

You'd think they cared about the welfare of their own people? But they don't. They expect you to work 60 hours a week, and will dock you for taking a half day or asking for some time off. HR isn't any good. I had sleepless nights worrying and stressing over the job. Not worth my health.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire better management.
