I have been working at Baker Hughes

    Pros

The people are genuinely good-natured and colleagues are often very close. There is opportunity for advancement and ample training in most groups.

    Cons

The company is still experiencing some growing pains since moving from a division structure to a regional structure; however, the goal remains to put the customer's needs first.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to keep employees informed about organizational changes. Listen to employees when they say that they need more people on their teams and respond by hiring accordingly; many groups are understaffed.

I have been working at Baker Hughes

    Pros

Decent work environment, peers care about one another, senior techs willing to share knowledge with entry level mechanics . State of the art on the job training. Excellent safety emphasis in place in the yard and on the field site . Shift leaders show genuine concern for employees. Senior Maintenance Supervisor supplied some tools at his expense.

    Cons

Layoffs are unfortunately prevelant company wide. However, layoffs have been the fewest in North Dakota compared to other Baker-Hughes US locations. Senior management can be micromanagerial but do show concern and address issues at hand in a timely manner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show the hard working employees and shift leaders appreciation for their work ethic and willingness to to learn. Get rid of the "job milkers" and "pay check" gatherers. They are the number one reason productivity is not at it's fullest potential and hurt the company's reputation.
