I worked at Best Buy part-time (less than an year)

Pros

-They pay above minimum wage
-PLENTY of hours during holiday season
-Very respectful of school hours, other jobs, and just general life.
-Great treatment from company
-Plenty of opportunities to get extra hours (volunteer for midnight openings!)
-Store I worked had lots of drawings for cash or lunch or rewards for selling a certain amount or signing up a certain number of credit cards.
-Lunches you get paid to go to.
-They want you to get paid for coming in and filling out paper work. Awesome!
-ETK

Cons

-Management expects you to follow customers around and bother them to buy something. I've heard a few customer complaints on this.
-Most of the people in the computer section were lazy towards their jobs.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be a little more polite to customers and respect their personal spaces.
Watch every department for people who aren't willing to work. There are plenty of people out there who would gladly do the job instead.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

My coworkers are probably some of the nicest people I've ever met. There is a very cool and eclectic vibe at the store.

    Cons

The supervisors are flighty, the managers are ineffective, and the pay is deplorable, akin to slave wages.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do your job and show some semblance of solidarity to your employees and customers. Oh and if you don't want to go out of business (...already are) stop price matching Amazon Marketplace and Craigslist, the desperation is embarrassing.

    Pros

Lots of fun items to play with and keep busy. Some incentives for selling one brand vs another.

    Cons

crabby customers = ). Management not as interested in lower level employees advancement. Not a real structured environment.
