    I worked at Chili's full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you actually learn what they try to teach you in training, it will help in ANY job you have afterwards. Yes, even that 'real' job you're after.
    Great serving job for beginners.

Restaurant managers get a lot of flack, but they do really well, considering what is expected of them by the company. They are basically adult babysitters.

    Cons

Turn and burn atmosphere. Don't expect to make 20% at every table (some stores are exceptions to this rule..). Instead, keep your section flowing, so that you can make the most of their excellent branding.

It's hard not to get caught up in the negative attitude.
Note: NOBODY owes you a 20% tip. If you didn't make good money on one table, try to make it up on the next one.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mandatory meetings at 7am are silly. Find a better way to train and communicate with your staff.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Chili's full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Has name recognition due to popularity and success in other markets.

    Cons

Take it from the spouse of a former manager at this location, there is no teamwork or development mentality. It's all about catching you doing something wrong but not telling you how to properly handle that scenario in the future. The management team is so busy trying to throw each other under the bus and make themselves look good individually that there is no room for teamwork nor is there any encouragement to develop team work. Managers at the GM and RM level do not practice what they preach by following the Chilis standard but will certainly reprimand anyone umder them not following the standards.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Someone from Chilis Corp needs to plant a manager spy to witness the lack of leadership and development that is occuring in the Nebraska Chilis Management team.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
