I worked at Citi full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Some good people to work with, nothing to overly stressful, tons of lateral mobility to gain a full experience.

    Cons

Never got a raise, thankless, can catch even your closest co-workers in terrible moods regularly, HR is too busy trying to create such a comfortable work place that they forget about professionalism, no bonuses, witness lots of lay offs especially their most loyal people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    pay your employees.

I have been working at Citi full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good people, decent salary, decent benefits. Ability to work remotely occasionaly. On site gym, ATM, cafeteria.

    Cons

Frozen salary for 2 years. Huge benefit cost increase. Overtime occasionaly required, but that is the norm for any IT job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make your employees feel appreciated by giving them at least a cost of living wage increase each year. Frozen salaries just don't cut it. Don't take your employees for granted. They will eventually leave and all that company investment in them, training, education, etc. will be gone. No place to go for career advancement. The old boy network definitely exists at Citi.
