Pros

I loved working for citigroup even though the advancement was not there. However it is a good company that cares about its employees and flexible. Management are involved as well

Cons

too big that you become a number also the company tend to layoff people than any other bank that I have been with

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest and keep the line of communications open. most of the creative ideas are with those employees who do the daily work so listen to them

    Pros

    Organisation committed to change. Exceptional people in some areas. Very focused on rebuilding the franchise and creating an end to end level of efficiency thoughout the business units

    Cons

    Too great a focus on non Value add activities, conbined with a bysantine approvals process which makes if difficult to get things done quickly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Trust the employees you recruit to do the job they have been employed to do. Allow empowerment to flourish through all levels of the organisation. Senior managers do not always know best

    Pros

    Global footprint, many people with a global mindset, respected by customers (more so in the emerging markets), broad spectrum of products and customer capabilities.

    Cons

    Senior Management is unable to engage with the many dedicated and talented people. 'Who' you know seems to matter more than 'what' you know. Poor information systems leaves the management floundering in the dark. Opinions matter more than facts - politics and tribalism more important than abilities. Not customer centric at the global level, so the franchise is being neglected in preference for financial engineering.

    Improve Business Intelligence; Engage Employees across the organization; Focus on the Customer; Delegate Authority to people closest to the customer; Eject Politicians and Build the Global franchise
