I have been working at Credit Suisse part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Within the business, very good company culture: humble, polite, principle driven
Good flexible working options and respect for work life balance.
Good pay, even with a lousy bonus
Good job at cutting costs - though quality and ethics have somewhat suffered

    Cons

Appalled by the very low quality of the HR function, utterly battered by cost cutting, which drove talent away. An absolute lack of communication and collaboration with their client groups, HRBPs and TD only dedicating their time to MDs hoping for an inexistent cascading. Lateral recruitment poorly managing internal mobility, not even able to read a CV and having no clue about what the business is actually doing. Talent Development function only there to event-manage soft skills trainings and having absolutely no interest in developing technical expertise of the teams. HRBPs not even interested in maintaining job descriptions according to new operating business models, in a time of significant transformation. Terrible lack of proactiveness and internal client management. Admin teams unable to record information adequately and manage effectively flexi time arrangements. And worse, no action taken when shortcomings and improvement needs are pointed out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shake up that HR function : it's not because we are working with limited budget that we need to abandon all standards ...
