Design Engineer

Pros

The company has a technical focus and engineers are well respected in the company. Easy access to information and management to get the work done.

Cons

There is a high pressure to get it 100% right the first time and this low margin for error tends to create a lot of tension for managers.

Recommends
Approves of CEO

    Pros

    - You will learn how to design embedded systems
    - You may patent your work
    - You could learn a lot if you wish, Cypress University online learning system has a lot of good cources

    Cons

    - You will get overtimes as much as you can.
    - You should learn 1001 corporate rules, slogans, including when TJ was finished his school, what is the favorite baseball team and you should pass exam on that.
    - Officially Cypress doesn't tolerate politician, but you will see inside a lot of politics. During tough time a lot of good enginneers and managers were fired, but most of the survived were people who always cite 10 Cypress principles, but could not do their job good.
    - How to make a profit: fire 2/3 of engineers, assign their job to the remaining 1/3, hire cheap employees from different industry(so they will be unable to do their job).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mediocre companies beleive that everyone in company just a screw who can easily be substituted, but for technological companies this is not true. You even did not trying to become good place for work. Well it works till your competitors in semiconductor industry using same practice. But at some moment new "semiconductors Google" will appear and you will be vanished in a short time.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
