I have been working at DISH full-time for more than a year

Pros

Good management (at least in the call center), plenty of training to keep you up to date on what's going on.

Cons

Lazy customer service agents, people not wanting to work. Hard to accomplish payouts based on random metrics we cannot control.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ease up on the can-be-rigid requirements that are, honestly, unreachable sometimes.

I have been working at DISH full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The company is very smart with money and very stable. There is never a fear that the company is "going under" or about to drop staff.

    Cons

I hear the salary isn't as high as some other companies but I've received multiple raises and promotions in my 6+ years here and am quite comfortable with my current pay and future prospects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The move toward more lax "core hours" is a great one. Now just loosen up on bad weather days for those with laptops a few times a year and we'll be set.

I have been working at DISH full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Challenging environment, growth opportunities, & great team cohesion. I hadn't been with the company barely 2 months before I was presenting to EVPs. The managers/directors/VPs I report to often ask for my opinion when it comes time to make a decision and they don't feel they always have to be the one who came up with the idea. Working for Dish challenges me on a daily basis and I feel that I learn something new everyday. Not long after I started at the company I received an offer from another organization that paid significantly more but I didn't hesitate to turn it down because the experience and on the job education I receive at Dish are priceless. Joe Clayton is a visionary leader and it's obvious when he speaks that he cares about his employees.

    Cons

Although there is great cohesion within teams there seems to be a disconnect between teams sometimes. It's not uncommon to hear the frustration in the voice of a person from another team when you request their help.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on building cohesion between teams and remove the us vs. them mentality that seems to be present between teams.
