I worked at Dell full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay well....however management is too highly compensated and bonus structure precludes company cooperation.

    Cons

Too Sales and marketing oriented..all talk...very little substance and integration of assets. Coin operated sales force, Services is it's own entity and despite the rhetoric..it's still a hardware company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reduce structure, utilize and listen to employees from other companies who can help you. Lose the arrogance and stop managing quarter by quarter..

I have been working at Dell full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Consumer facing company, Michael is an inspiring leader. Culture of doing what's right for the customer.

    Cons

Hurry up and wait. Decisions constantly revisited. Big organization with too many people who want to input on a decision. Flat organization means little opportunity for advancement. Executive Director at Dell is like a VP at any other large company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut out the processes and make decisions faster. Constantly late to market with underwhelming products. Cost structure of business makes most consumer products unprofitable.
