Former Employee - Inside-Sales Representative in Sydney (Australia)

I worked at Dell full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Very structured process and procedures which supported the sales floor.
    Management were generally very approachable
Opportunities within the organisation to cross into other roles

    Cons

Very very metrics focussed with daily KPI's on sales numbers and talk time.
Too focussed on the weekly number and commitments up the chain to management vs building long term customer relationships.
Eventually too many hoops and lines of business gates to jump through to reach target
Target increases were double and triple digit figures quarter on quarter

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to retain your talent
Opex is way too low and hardware reps are being made to pay for a services business that is not performing.
