Pros

The best part of working at Guidewire is that its corporate values are embraced at all levels, even all the way to the highest levels of executive management. Also, Guidewire is a very egalitarian company. The company truly values all contributors.

Cons

The only minor issue is that Guidewire's benefits are about average. The company could try to improve vacation packages, employee's insurance cost, etc.

    Pros

    Smart people.
Decent pay and almost on par with other companies in the Bay Area.
    Flexible hours.
    Work from home.
    Friendly colleagues.

    Cons

Older technology. Mostly outdated. Custom built in house. Work experience and knowledge gained by Devs and QA is not as useful once you leave the company.

    Advice to Management

Update the technology stack. This will help Devs and QA something to look forward to. Using the same technologies for past 10 years adds very little to the employee resume as the market is moving very fast. QA testing is limited and mostly manual so this slows down release cycles. Encourage all employees in product development to write code so that productivity increases.
