I worked at Hertz full-time (less than an year)

Pros

MT to ABM in 4 months.

Cons

Rapid promotions are because the job sucks. I was the assistant branch manager of a branch that grossed over $2 million in revenue a year. I made $11.79/hr. See the problem here? They expect you to give everything you got, including your first born.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give the tools needed to those that actually get the job done. Telling customers we have cars when that is a flat lie is absurd.

    Pros

    Bonuses are performance based and are very generous; at Branch Manager level, a free car, free gas, and free insurance are provided. Lots of opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

    There is too much inefficiency; too many conference calls, too many emails, too much time wasted bringing cars in when needed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Overall a good company to work for, eliminate some of the inefficiencies and it will be a great company to work for.

    Pros

    Flexible schedule. Good pay for the work. I get to drive lots of cars. Very good benefits.

    Cons

    Upper management issues. Policies change without notifying the customers. Sometimes I don't get the support necessary to solve problems.

    Get back to the counter once in awhile; you're out of touch.
