I have been working at Huntington National Bank full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

If you are lucky enough to work for a supportive manager, you will succeed. Most people there are willing to help you learn and develop your skills, and they generally want you to do well.

Cons

There are going to be people that will treat you poorly, and it will be apparent that they are unsuccessful at Huntington.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management needs to hire fully qualified people to lead the company, instead of bringing on friends to fill key roles.

    Pros

    Very nice customers.
You get the bank holidays off.
24 hour grace is a great program.

    Cons

Be warned this is a sales job. If you cannot sell do not bother to apply. If you want to start at a full-time position they will tell you that you can't. THIS IS A LIE. They will give full-time positions to people with no banking experience if they like them. The only way to get ahead is to make your team leader and manager like you. No matter what happens do not complain to HR. You will be labeled a trouble maker. Then, they will write you up for every little thing, make you work at far away branches and transfer you until you leave. Beware of the surveys. You and/or your manager will be punished for negative answers. If you are an unhappy employee keep your mouth shut and find another job. Avoid the exit interview and any advice for improvement. This is the only way to get a decent reference.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The gimmics are not working. Saying "Welcome to Huntington" to every customer every day is robotic and ridiculous! Taking out all clocks and calendars so that the customers shouldn't realize how long that they have been waiting is equally ridiculous! Cheap looking polyester uniforms are for fast food workers not banking professionals.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
