    I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Working with nice people. Store discount.

    Cons

You are a disposable number and that is all. The new CEO is making changes on a daily basis that impact peoples livelihood and there is no job security.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the new CEO.

    I worked at J. C. Penney full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You have a job that makes some money. The discount you get is 25% and you are allowed special shopping days. They do some recognition of your achievements. I made some friends that I still communicate with outside of that job.

    Cons

They treat you as if you are replaceable. The company has a horrible turn over rate. Because of the new structure of the company if you are not available all the time you get punished bey loss of hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that your employees have lives outside of the store. Remember that at one point you were a regular employee and not a manager and remember how hard it was to prove yourself to the hire ups.
