I was happy to work there for 21 years. I wish my department had not been outsourced.

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Decent salary and an excellent benefits package. Good corporate culture. A great place to work until the last few years, when the layoffs, outsourcing and offshoring began. Good severance package though.

Cons

During my last few years at Chase an ever-increasing drive for efficiency led to large scale reductions in IT staffing, with ever fewer employees expected to carry heavier workloads. My department was eventually outsourced.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Best financial institution on the street and a great name to have on the resume. Plenty of opportunity in the firm for career advancement. Best CEO on the street as well.

    Cons

Almost too structured. Very disciplined which leads to significant micromanaging. The firm is 100% focused on investments so if you work in any other discipline, you're somewhat ignored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Relax a bit...it won't hurt ya.
