Stable organization with good pay and great benefits. The people are also what make this a great place to work.

Cons

The pace of change is very slow. I compare it to large government agencies.

I have been working at Kaiser Permanente

    Pros

The salary is a very decent salary comparatively. Excellent health benefits. A decent amount of vacation time. A good medical records system.

    Cons

Top-heavy management style is disconnected from realities of patient care. Is not top quality medical care what we're suppose to be here for?
The culture is extremely consensus-driven and people tend to be passive-aggressive to a fault.
Management is very poor. Communication is very poor. Management breeds an atmosphere of favoritism and nepotism. They go after people they don't like and only take care of the people they do like. It is a very hypocritical environment as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to stop playing favorites - like an employee because they are good at their job - not because you personally dislike them. Stop relaying on "anonymous" job evaluations - most only say something when they have something bad to say - few respond when they have something good to say. Too many grudges held - grow up!
Management needs to get more experience in dealing with people - learn to communicate!
Reduce some of the middle management. They just complicate the whole approval and work process without adding any values.

A closed union shop with many union issues

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
