    I have been working at MD Anderson full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Working with the best of the best in oncology research; approachable faculty; co-workers from every area of the world; competitive salaries, beautiful surroundings (buildings/furniture), top-notch equipment.

    Cons

    Recent change in leadership (president) who is reworking how things have been done. Wants to commercialize. Lots of changes from the top-down. Not everyone is happy with the changes. Also brought some bad press which dedicated employees are having a hard time getting over. Also since a state agency it is difficult to fire low-achievers and high achievers are overburdened.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Recognize the efforts of the dedicated, long-term employees; look at experience more than letters after someone's name. Rate work ethic higher than the degree that someone has.
