I worked at Microsoft as an intern (less than a year)

Pros

Flexible working hour, free sodas, nice gym membership, parking well available, once a month a party with wine. For interns there was also a subsidized car rental -- a good thing to take to see around, even though not a necessity for commuting as the company accommodation is just across the road.

Cons

working in offices with very thin walls, if someone on the other side is having a lot of phone calls, it may get a bit disturbing. No free food as google has, having at least some fruit available through day would be nice...

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

One of the best in terms of perks, work environment and work resources. Gives independence to work on project and features.

    Cons

Slow growth in terms of promotions and pay. Politics and more of a show game that brings people to limelight. No honest meritocracy

I worked at Microsoft full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Engineering driven culture, good people, excellent benefits.

    Cons

Need to get their hunger back and shake their complacency. They are trying hard now and time will tell if they are successful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Drive direct customer experience and hands on customer contact within engineering teams.
