I have been working at Nestlé full-time

Pros

Great people, quality life, so many different areas that you can be in the same company for years and have lots of different experiences

Cons

HR is horrible, getting a straight answer is difficult, if you want to move around or change, it is best to rely on relationships you have built, have to be comfortable with uncertainty

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to deliver on time with contracts and feedback. No clear process for recruiting or criteria for positions.

Incompetent and disingenuous managers, low salaries, job insecurity, corporate culture based on greed and deception.

I have been working at Nestlé full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Nestle make lots of packaged food. Great for those who don't have access to fresh produce? I am thinking astronauts.
Lots of career opportunities if you are either incompetent, a brown noser, or both.

    Cons

Nestle Research Center in Lausanne (Vers-chez-les-Blanc) pays about 20-30% less than the industry average. Since 2002 all researchers and staff are hired on 2-year contracts. Whenever the management wants to reduce the workforce, they simply stop renewing these contracts. No news coverage of layoffs - quite convenient. Scientific research is of low quality and results are often not reproducible. I have encountered examples of fraudulent research as well. Lots of examples of use of confidential information on competitors obtained through industrial espionage. Research strategy is mostly based on copying what competitors are currently doing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please, before you move on to your next job, hire competent business strategists, scientists and staff. This way you will not have to resort to industrial espionage and may one day have a chance to produce some original research. Pay competitive salaries, and give up the 2-year contracts. Respected workforce may just turn out to be more productive!

I have been working at Nestlé full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Stable company, good work environment, great team, social guarantees.

    Cons

Salary below the mediana on the market, very low compensations and merits, which don't motivate. Not effective PDG system (everyone hates it and no one believes in it).
