I have been working at Northwestern Mutual as an intern

Pros

Northwestern Mutual has great products and services which makes them easier to sell. You are mostly your own boss if you are a financial rep.

Cons

Since you are your own boss you have to be motivated to work. If you are not self motivated this job is not for you.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take responsibility for your own actions by not throwing the blame on the most recent person that left.

I worked at Northwestern Mutual as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

If you have lots of connections you MAY be successful in this line of business. Its very hard at first, but if your willing to work for very little for a few years you will likely become successful.

    Cons

They'll tell you you're a perfect fit for this position and your personality is meant to excel in this line of business, only because once you make one sale they are benefiting off you for years to come. They'll hire anyone they can, especially interns because it's a "test drive" for you and them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recruiters need to be more professional and provide a more realistic job preview..
