Pros

Somewhat flexible with personal emergencies. Some space for lateral movement if one pursues the issue.

Cons

Company pays as little as possible.
They don't provide the necessary equipment to do the job.
Getting education is like pulling teeth

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't bother sending employees news about how the company is doing. It means nothing to them. With an average annual merit increase between 1.5 - 2.0 % and no bonus structure except for directors and up, hearing about excessive profits is only demoralizing.

    Pros

    It is a good team environment. Some flexibility in work schedule. Management cares about their people. The work / life balance is good.

    Cons

    Management has a tendency to make hasty decisions about direction without at least consulting their experts. Hiring and advancements are made by favoritism over skills and accomplishments.

    Listen to the expert opinion of your staff when they give advice on technology to avoid costly mistakes.
